There’s a reason Ellen’s Kimchi, an organic, local kimchi brand, has been such a successful endeavor: owner Ellen White creates each product based off her grandmother’s cherished recipe in small batches. Fueled with a lifelong love of the delicious superfood, Ellen perfected her own kimchi making and delved into the social, nutritional, and environmental benefits of eating kimchi. Introduction to Vedic Meditation

How to integrate ‘blissed’ and busy: an introductory talk on Vedic Meditation
Host: Tory Bridges from The Minimal Mind
Cost: FREE
Monday, September 29, 3-4pm
Monday, October 6th, 6-7pm

Why does the world feel more ‘grind’ and less bliss?

Tory Bridges is a teacher of Vedic Meditation, an effortless technique where a mantra is used to step beyond thought and arrive at a state of inner wakefulness: pure consciousness.

It is a technique specifically designed for people with careers, kids and busy schedules – people who are engaged in the modern world and the stresses that go along with it. Vedic Meditation dissolves these stresses, allowing you to make “blissed and busy” a part of your daily reality.

This is what she would like to share with you:
• What the technique is and how it can work for you
• The benefits you can expect from continued practice
• An invitation to receive your own Vedic Meditation mantra
• Q&A

Grow Your Own Blue Cheese: June 22

GROW YOUR OWN BLUE CHEESE
Sunday, June 22, noon-3pm
$86 | $69 SHARED members – Register here.

What is veiny, stinky and alive with mold? What can you make in your own kitchen using store-bought milk and easy-to-find equipment? A beautiful piece of blue cheese! FARMcurious brings the spectacular San Francisco Milk Maid to show us a whirlwind introduction to home cheesemaking with a focus on the style of blue cheeses.

We’ll start with a vat of warm milk and wind our way over the course of three hours to something aged and robust. We’ll do plenty of sampling, of course, to make sure you know what you’re looking for in a magnificent chunk of moldy cheese.

Each participant brings home a freshly made mini wheel to grow old and moldy with. This class is a good introduction to cheesemaking or, even better, a ‘next step’ for those who’ve already made yogurt, ricotta, mozzarella or chevre.

Ticket price includes instruction, tastings, recipes and edible homework.

Supplies Required:  Nothing is required but feel free to BYOB.

Limit: 20 people

THE FULL SCRIPT WORKSHOP
Saturday May 17, 9am-6pm
$225 (Full Registration) / $50 (Regular) | $40 (Regular SHARED member rate)

Register Here.

Limit: 7 Writers

Participants read seven screenplays in advance of the workshop. During the workshop, Gordy provides direct and in-depth feedback on each screenplay, with everyone encouraged to contribute his or her own thoughts and concerns.

Each writer will leave with a great sense of what they can do specifically to improve their screenplay, as well as a better awareness of where they might properly develop as a professional screenwriter as a whole. Writers benefit from the direct focus placed on their screenplays by the workshop, along with the analysis of the six other scripts.

Screenplays can be first drafts or rewrites, incomplete or partial, with first time writers and veterans all welcome. Scripts are due 10-14 days prior to the date of the workshop.

Note: Screenplays submitted to the workshop are not eligible to be entered into the BlueCat Screenplay Competition.

REGULAR REGISTRATION OPTION

Do you want to participate, but do not have a script to submit at this time? Regular registration for the workshop allows you to attend without submitting written material, read the scripts in advance and still participate in the discussion.
